ARRT Work Groups:
Science and Technology Committee
The Science and Technology (S&T) Committee provides a forum for the ARRT to fulfill its delegated responsibilities in 40 CFR 300.115(i)(6) of the National Contingency Plan (NCP) stating “In coordination with Area Committees and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations or requirements, conduct advance planning for use of dispersants, surface washing agents, surface collecting agents, burning agents, bioremediation agents or other chemical agents in accordance with subpart J of the NCP".
Wildlife Protection Committee
The Wildlife Protection Committee (Committee) assists the Alaska RRT in fulfilling requirements set forth in Section 300.210(c)(4)(i) of the National Contingency Plan (NCP); namely, that the Alaska RRT’s Area Contingency Plan include: “…coordinated, immediate and effective protection, rescue, and rehabilitation of, and minimization of risk of injury to…wildlife resources and habitat". The Wildlife Protection Committee maintains the Wildlife Protection Guidelines for Oil Spill Response in Alaska.
Cultural Resources Committee
The Alaska Regional Response Team (RRT) Cultural Resources Committee (Committee) assists the RRT in implementing the Programmatic Agreement on Protection of Historic Properties During Emergency Response Under the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan in Alaska.
Statewide Planning Committee
The Statewide Planning Committee consists of the ARRT Coordinators and the Area Committee secretaries. Their purpose is the coordinate the various plans and planning projects statewide to maximize efficiencies, coordinate limited resources and share best practices.
Regional Stakeholder Committee Task Force
The Regional Stakeholder Committee (RSC)’s composition may include tribal and local government representatives, Regional Citizen Advisory Councils (RCACs), community emergency coordinators, landowners, leaseholders, and special interest groups affected by the spill. The purpose of the RSC Task Force is to update regional stakeholder committee language in the four area contingency
plans, and to create and maintain the RSC and Liaison Officer (LOFR) job aids. The RSC and LOFR job aids are currently being revised, and updated versions will be linked below after finalization.

Tribal Committee Task Force
These guidelines describe the circumstances and processes for consultation and coordination with Tribal entities, to include Federally Recognized Tribes and Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) Regional and Village Corporations, for Alaska Regional Response Team (ARRT) activities. The ARRT Tribal Guidance document is currently being revised, and an updated version will be linked below after finalization.
